Costumes are Done!!

The dresses, crowns, train and veils are ready to be shipped.Yay!

The Queen's dress (red) has a detachable train and a crown that is worn over a glittery net veil. It also has a detachable belt, made so that the gown, which is cut large, can be worn for a while until the little girl grows out of it.

The Princess gown (blue) has a chiffon veil connected to the head-dress. This dress also has a detachable belt with a tie made of two layers of tulle.

My sewing machine held out until just before finishing everything....something is wrong and despite mucho years of dealing with machines, I can't figure out what's wrong. Luckily, the only thing missing, machine-wise, I can do my hand and then we're done. Hurray!

The only other thing I've been able to accomplish during the costume building time, was to make a few more Silent Chimes to send to Little Beach Gallery in Hyannis. They sell them like the proverbial hot cakes.... nice!

My new gallery, in Melrose, MA also took some Chimes as well as a lot of jewelry and some small artwork, including my blue Dragonfly. The place is wonderful, with lots of very interesting items....one could do serious damage to the budget there!

On the 'workshop newsflash' line, the silk painting at Newburyport Adult Ed is going to take place as we have enough people, but there is still space for new students.
A new and FREE silk painting class for kids from 8 to 18 will take place at Georgetown Library on Nov. 2. The kids will be able to make a silk scarf for their Moms for Christmas.
