September 4 - Silk Painting Demonstration in Melrose, MA - More info later.

Come one, come all and say hello.

As usual, I'll be showing my Tree Bark Bracelets. Here's a great one:

Hi everyone, long time no hear. In a nutshell, my new hip is great and I healed in record time. No more limping, no more going up stairs like a crab.

So here is (one of ) my newest projects. I'm creating a piece of artwork a day on an index card... fun, right? The ICAD (Index Card a Day) link is http://daisyyellowart.com/icad/.
It's a great way to keep the juices flowing between other projects.
Here is my June 1 'offering', it's dyed silk and beads. I kind of cheated and used  something I had made already, but from now on, a card a day is my goal. Stay tuned!

I'm off tomorrow to Mass General for hip-replacement surgery so I will not be around for a while (again!).

In the meantime, here are some things I've been working on lately.

AND the Kleenex box cover for the bedroom, made from some painted silk scraps I had.

Gelatin Prints

When I took Linda Germain's gelatine printing class, I made a series of prints in different colors. I cut some templates of trees and flowers and used them along with many of the items Linda has for people to use in their prints.

I had some nice black/grey/white prints for which I had found no use, so I decided to make a Kleenex box covers. Using greens and turquoise embroidery thread, and using plastic needlepoint canvas as a base, I joined the sides of the cover and this is what came out!

Next, one for the bedroom........

NEXT!

This is the next piece in the New Year's Series. It's called 'Seasilk II', is 9.5" square.
The price is $30.

Starting the New Year Right!

I've decided to be more productive this year and offer very inexpensive pieces of art almost every day.

The first piece is a silk painting called Underwater I  and is padded and mounted on a board, ready to hang. It can also be mounted in a floating frame. Size: 7 1/4" x 7 1/4"and the price is $30. (postage included).

Let me know what you think!
